Drew

Drew Girton

Owner | Head Coach | Director of Programming

Drew found CrossFit in 2010 after starting in the fitness industry in 2001. He was one of the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coaches at Western Michigan University from 2002-2004, then went on to personal training and management of a corporate gym from 2007-2013. Outside the gym Drew and his wife, Chris, have 2 children and he loves to pour over coffee, & Michigan Football.

Chriz

Chris Girton

Co-Owner | Head Coach

Before finding CrossFit, Chris had 10 years of experience in personal training. Although she impacted people’s lives one-on-one, she found that the group training format through CrossFit was also effective aesthetically and on a performance level. The energy of the group setting is what she uses to motivate and push people to bring their best, and what she truly appreciates about being a coach is seeing people overcome their personal mental limitations. Chris also enjoys being active outside of the gym, having completed 8 marathons,3 half marathons, playing tennis recreationally, and raising two children.

Johnny

Johnny Caballero

Coach

Johnny is passionate about many things, but mostly about the Pendulum community. He loves that none of the members has egos, that it’s about friendly competition and personal improvement. As an athlete, Johnny was active in sports all throughout high school and college. He found CrossFit during his last year at Loyola Marymount College, joined Pendulum after graduating, and started coaching shortly after.

George Huerta

Becoming a trainer is a dream come true for George. He quit his office job and jumped at the chance to help people change their lives. “If I can help others live healthier, happier, and higher-quality lives, I have done my job. Not only as a coach but in life.”

He brings his years of training in powerlifting, callisthenics, and Olympic lifting to CrossFit Pendulum. George says he couldn’t have done it “without the blood, sweat, and tears I have put in the gym or the love and support of those in this community

Astrid

Coach

Astrid began her fitness journey after finishing her BS in Exercise Science from The Ohio State University and becoming a personal trainer at a commercial gym. Coaching and empowering others in fitness was an organic transition as she had played competitive soccer as a youth athlete. She found purpose and direction through strength training, discovering that the process of incremental improvement was not only a powerful allegory for living, but one she could commit to for life. She began CrossFit in 2016 after spending three years training and competing in Olympic Weightlifting in Santa Cruz, CA.

In 2017, Astrid relocated to LA and joined the staff at CrossFit Pendulum. She also works at Harvard Westlake high school as a sports performance coach.

Monica Au-Yeung

Coach

Monica is an athlete and coach who left her career as a high school chemistry teacher to pursue her true passion in fitness. Her goal as a coach is to empower her athletes and help discover how capable their bodies and minds are. Monica strives to teach and motivate, rather than just instruct classes. “Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for life.”
